Composite Fillings

Composite (tooth-colored) fillings are the treatment of choice for small to medium-sized cavities. This material is a tooth-colored resin that comes in numerous tooth shades to match the teeth being filled and restored. Composite resin has a long history of being safe, effective, and much more esthetically pleasing than silver amalgam fillings. One major advantage in using composite resin relates to our ability to conserve tooth structure. In treating very small cavities in the deep grooves of teeth, teeth can be prepped minimally and restored with composite due to its ability to flow and adapt to small cavity preps. In addition to fillings, this material is also very effective in repairing small-sized chips in front teeth.
